Have you ever noticed that sunshine seems to make the day better? No matter what is happening around me, sunshine and warm weather always makes me happier, and especially at the very beginning of the season. Today I was able to shed my jacket, scarf, and pants for a long sleeve shirt and shorts. It was glorious. I even wore a tank top (DWPC of course) on my run today. I was one happy girl. It definitely helps that I am able to run on the beach every day.
In fact, today was the first day since I’ve been here that I ran on the beach, and in the sand. I would say that I feeling the sand beneath my feet as I ran reminded me of the summers that I used to be a beach lifeguard, but I didn’t take off my shoes. Today I was the person that I always used to make fun of: jogging on the beach with tennis shoes on. I used to wonder, Who does that? Today, I did, and it was not that bad. In fact, it was really convenient and I actually didn’t mind the bit of sand in my socks as I hopped back onto the cement path when the beach ended.
Today, I was finally able to take a picture of the brand of busses that I’ve seen since I arrived. Ventura. It is such a random company name, but it always brings a smile to my face. And now I can finally share it!
Ah, a little piece of home. 🙂
Speaking of home, I miss getting into the Halloween spirit. The holiday is not celebrated in Australia. Luckily, my mom didn’t forget my yearly spray painted pumpkin! Every year since I can remember, she has spray painted the tops of mini pumpkins pink and used them to decorate the house for Halloween. Then, each year of college, she would send me and my roommates each a pumpkin of our own to decorate with! This year, I got a picture of the one for me, Chels, and Nic! 🙂 It made me so happy!
Fuzzy picture, but they are so cute!
Life is good. 🙂 I hope that you all like the new format! I sure do! Comments are now on the side of each post up by the dates.:)
Alicia’s Aussie Word of the Day: drink tap. Meaning drinking fountain, faucet. Usage: After a hard swimset tonight, I refilled my drink bottle using the drink tap in the corner of the building.
