Melbourne: Four Seasons in One Day

Today, I left the house to walk to work and it was lightly sprinkling outside, with blue clouds 200 meters away. However, less than 20 steps from my front door, the sky opened up and it started dumping rain. It was complete with flashes of lightning and claps of thunder. To top it off, it started hailing! I got drenched, and could not stop staring at the blue sky that seemed to be two streets away. Then, it stopped. Completely.

Just like that, there was thunder, lightning, hail, and blue skies. Melbourne Airport used to have a sign that said “Welcome to Melbourne. If you don’t like the weather, wait ten minutes.” That’s the truth!!

Alicia’s Aussie Word of the Day: tooted. Meaning honked. Useage: A car tooted at me as I j-walked across the street.

Hey Alicia, that sounds AWESOME! Yes, I do mean awesome… It reminds me of our trip to France this summer. We were visiting The Châteaux de Versailles, strolling around the gardens under the sun, when Ben said ” Look, it’s raining over there”. Little did we know… Within a couple of minutes the wind lifted and it suddenly started to pour. It was quite a sight to watch everyone running for cover, and I could not stop laughing, feeling I was transported into the Mary Poppins movie (Ya, that dates me a little). These are the kinds of moments you never forget, so enjoy every minute!
