We survived our first 5:30 am practice this morning. It was with girls around age 16, so it was not very challenging and fun to be able to play different spots than normal for man up situations. (I drew on my inner Dakotah and played the 3 post a lot!)
After practice, we took public transportation home and what is a 10min drive up the coast from our house to the pool became an hour and 15 minute commute by tram into the city and then switching trams to go back out to Elwood. Sheesh! By the time we got home, we gobbled down breakfast and all fell asleep for two hours. I really needed the nap!
After waking up, running, and eating lunch, we watched Dolphin Tale. It was cute, but pretty silly. Then, Chelsea and I read for a bit, I talked to Ben, and we made dinner. Our last excursion out of the house was down Ormond St to search for some ice cream. Ormond St is up the block from our house and is lined with clothing shops, restaurants including Dandelion, coffee houses including CombiCoffee, and more. It’s adorable!
We ended up getting Vanilla and I got mint cookies to crush and add in, and Chelsea chose snickers. We ate our ice cream and watched MoneyBall tonight. The movie was amazing!! (Sorry Ben for refusing to see it with you when it was in theaters 😛 haha)
Overall, a pretty uneventful, relaxing rainy day! 🙂
Alicia’s Aussie Word of the Day: bather. Meaning bathing suit. Usage: this morning we put our bathers on before we left the house for practice.
